A Gallo-roman legend tells that one Lucius planted the first vines in the area, and gave his name to the parish of Lussac
aoc lussac saint-émilion In the centre of the appellation area, clay and limestone cover the plateau, in the north and west the soils are of sand and clay-loam or sandy, or of sand and gravel; the exposure is excellent and the slopes well drained.

All these factors play a part in the production of quality wines.

Lussac wines have a deep colour, a subtle bouquet as fine as it is generous. They resemble Montagne, their neighbour.

They reach their best after 3 or 4 years and can be kept 7 to 8 years.
